How It Works — Orange Guard

Nature working
the way nature does.

No synthetic chemicals. No nerve agents. No harsh residue. Just the natural oil found inside every orange peel.

d-Limonene.
The oil inside every orange peel.

d-Limonene is a naturally occurring compound found in the rind of an orange. It's on the FDA's GRAS list (Generally Regarded As Safe) meaning it's food-grade. The same compound that gives a fresh orange its scent is the active ingredient in every bottle of Orange Guard.

Steam-distilled from orange peels — not synthesized in a lab. The most natural extraction process possible.
FDA GRAS listed — all ingredients are Generally Regarded As Safe for use in and around food.
FQPA exempt — legally cleared for use in kitchens, pantries, and food preparation areas.
100% water-based and biodegradable — fully breaks down after use. No harsh residue left behind.

Three steps.
Zero synthetic chemistry.

01
Contact kill
d-Limonene dissolves the waxy coating on an insect's exoskeleton the moment it makes contact. The protective layer breaks down instantly — fast, physical action, no nervous system disruption involved.
Kills on contact
02
Suffocation
With their exoskeleton compromised, d-Limonene clogs the spiracles — the tiny breathing pores insects use to take in oxygen. Without the ability to breathe, insects suffocate. No nerve agents. No synthetic toxins.
Physical mechanism
03
Weeks of repelling
After the initial kill, Orange Guard continues working as a residual repellent — the scent and chemistry keep insects from returning for weeks. Then it fully biodegrades, leaving no harsh residue behind.

for each product.

Home Pest Control
Ready to use
No dilution

Indoors: Spray from 8–12 inches directly onto ants, roaches, fleas, silverfish, and other insects. Saturate area until visibly wet. Use the stream setting for penetrating cracks and crevices. Spray in kitchens, pantries, and under cabinets. Wait 3 minutes, then wipe excess with a damp cloth.

Outdoors: Spray the perimeter of your home generously — doorways, window frames, cracks — anywhere an insect can enter. Saturate areas of trail or nests.

For fleas: Apply to pet bedding to control fleas. Keeps repelling for weeks.

Fire Ant Control
Dilute before use
Mix ratio 1 part OG : 3 parts water

Dilute one part Orange Guard with three parts water. Puncture the fire ant mound and pour the solution in, saturating completely until the queen is covered. Treat in the early morning or late evening when ants are less active.

Does not damage grass, surrounding plants, or beneficial insects. Registered in 16 fire ant states.

Ornamental & Garden
Concentrate — dilute before use
Standard mix 1 part OG : 6 parts water

Dilute one part Orange Guard with six parts water for standard garden use. For delicate plants, increase to 1:8 ratio. Spray directly onto affected plants, saturating leaves where pests are present.

OMRI certified for organic production. Attracts pollinators — won't harm bees or beneficial insects when used as directed.

General tips
All products

Reapplication: For best results, reapply every 4–6 weeks or after heavy rain for outdoor use. The fresh orange scent fades within a few hours but the repelling effect continues.

Around pets: May be used around pets when used as directed. Keep pets out of treated areas while the spray is still wet. Allow to fully dry before pets re-enter the space.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in the original container. Non-refillable container.
